Friends

Hi, Princess!

Well, there’s not much going on right now, and it’s hard to think of anything new to write about. But football season is getting ready to start, and something just happened that made me think of your mommy.

The quarterback for the Eagles is a kid named Carson Wentz. He came from a small school out in the middle of nowhere. So he comes to the big city and makes a new friend, Jordan Matthews. He’s a wide receiver. They did okay last year. Not great, but Carson was just starting to learn how to play in the NFL.

So, this year, they were all fired-up to have an even better year. They practiced together with some other guys, and things were looking good. Then Jordan got traded.

Yes, it’s a business, and stuff like that happens all the time. But they were pals. Carson even drove Jordan to the airport when he left. Even though they’re grownups, they were still a little sad to say goodbye.

That reminded me of when your mommy and I moved from Philly back to Bucks County. Your mommy wasn’t much older than you are now. She was sad to say goodbye to one girl who was her best friend. They stayed close friends and talked on the phone and visited each other. So even though someone moves away, you can still be close!

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll try to write again soon.

Love you!

Split Pea and Ham

Hi, Princess!

It’s so hot today. Why am I making soup? I mean, when I make soup it takes hours and hours. It’s not like just opening a can of soup. It takes forever!

I remember your mommy and I would have lentil soup from a can, but that was a long, long time ago!  And she really liked lentil soup for some reason, which was okay with me. Of course, she also used to scarf down cookie dough ice cream. Yuck!

Anyway, that’s all for now. I have to get back to my soup.

Love,
