I changed everything just so I could get back on this site

Hi, Princess!

Yes, it’s Pop pop, and I’m back! Okay, so here’s what’s been going on. I couldn’t access this site, so there was no way I could stay in contact with you. I tried absolutely everything. So, I got rid of my internet. I moved from one apartment to another in the same complex, you remember you came to my old apartment sometimes? I got a new computer. A new internet plan. I switched from a whole bunch of different browsers, and finally, here I am!

It’s been kind of lonely, most everybody I know lives in Florida now.  I’ve decided that no matter what, I’ll stay here in Pa. with the hope that one day I’ll see you again.

My new apartment is bigger than the old one. It’s been ridiculously hot, so I’ve had the air conditioner on. Anyone that knows me knows I HATE to put the air conditioner on because it costs a lot of money.

I don’t have cable TV, I have Playstation Vue instead. It’s pretty good, and it’s cheaper than Comcast. My favorite show, Doctor Who, has even been in the news. The Twelfth Doctor is going to regenerate this Christmas. Basically, that means a new actor is going to play the same character. It’s kind of complicated. But, anyway, when the Doctor regenerates, he is going to be a she!

A lot of people don’t like what President Trump is up to right now. I still can’t believe I’m writing to you and using “President Trump”. I don’t want to tell you what to think about politics or religion. But I just have to say I liked President Obama a whole lot better.

Somehow, my Red Sox are still in first place. Not because they’re any good, but because every other team is just as bad!

Well, I guess that’s all for now.

Love you and miss you soooooooo much!

Hi, Princess!

Leslie, I hope this isn’t too controversial, but I wanted you to hear this song. I think it’s kind of important. Besides, I think it sounds beautiful.

Love you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

Hi, Princess!

My darling granddaughter, I love you more than life itself. There’s been a lot of hateful talk in the world lately, and I just wanted to share a bit of what I tried to teach your mommy.

We should all celebrate our differences, and we should embrace all that makes us the same.

There has never been, and there will never be, another you. By gender, heritage, experiences, and any one of a hundred different things, everybody is different from everybody else, if you combine everything that makes a person a person. At the same time, we are all human. We are all people. We have a million more things that make us the same, than things that make us different.

No two snowflakes are identical, but they are all snowflakes!

Anyway, I’m not trying to tell you what to believe, that’s not my job. All I can do is tell you what I believe.

And always remember, I love you very very very very very much!

Hi, Princess!

Okay, so a lot is going on in the world right now, especially with our new president. I’m sorry I haven’t written to you about all this stuff, but I didn’t know how to talk about it.

I guess that it’s easy to answer the questions that start Who, What, Where, When. The answers to those kinds of questions can be found in libraries, dictionaries, encyclopedias and even online.

I think the more important questions start with Why or How. Because you can’t just memorize facts, you have to think, and figure things out for yourself. I hope that makes sense.

Love you sooooooooooooooooooo much!

Farewell, Mr. President

Hi, Princess!

Barack Obama just gave his Presidential Farewell Adress. It made me cry. He talked about how we all need to respect each other, even if we don’t agree with each other. And he talked about it being our responsibility to make the world a better place.

I don’t know if you’re going to grow up to be a democrat, republican, independent, or whatever. But I hope some day you’ll watch it. It made me cry.

Love you sooooooooooooooooooo much!

Hi, my darling granddaughter.

It was eight years ago when I called your mommy and asked her to let you stay up late and watch Barack Obama give his acceptance speech. A lot has happened in eight years.

Well, tonight I watched Hillary Clinton give her acceptance speech. I couldn’t help but think about your mommy. I couldn’t help but think of you.

I miss your mommy every single day. I miss you every single day.

All my love,
