Happy Mother’s Day!

Hi, Princess!

Yes, today is Mother’s Day. Your mommy was the greatest mommy in the whole wide world!

Your mommy was a wonderful person, everyone that knew her loved her. But more than anything else, she loved you! It was like, she was always a charming, happy, warm, giving, just plain nice person. But when she had you, it was like, she was complete. It’s hard to explain. But then again, so was your mommy!

Love you so much,

Split Pea and Ham

Hi, Princess!

It’s so hot today. Why am I making soup? I mean, when I make soup it takes hours and hours. It’s not like just opening a can of soup. It takes forever!

I remember your mommy and I would have lentil soup from a can, but that was a long, long time ago!  And she really liked lentil soup for some reason, which was okay with me. Of course, she also used to scarf down cookie dough ice cream. Yuck!

Anyway, that’s all for now. I have to get back to my soup.

Love,

Hi, Princess!

My darling granddaughter, I love you more than life itself. There’s been a lot of hateful talk in the world lately, and I just wanted to share a bit of what I tried to teach your mommy.

We should all celebrate our differences, and we should embrace all that makes us the same.

There has never been, and there will never be, another you. By gender, heritage, experiences, and any one of a hundred different things, everybody is different from everybody else, if you combine everything that makes a person a person. At the same time, we are all human. We are all people. We have a million more things that make us the same, than things that make us different.

No two snowflakes are identical, but they are all snowflakes!

Anyway, I’m not trying to tell you what to believe, that’s not my job. All I can do is tell you what I believe.

And always remember, I love you very very very very very much!

Love,
